Dubai

We were up and out of the hotel by about 10am.  We took the tube into the city and looked for the nearest shopping mall.  We looked around the shops for a while, everything was very expensive, even more so than in the UK.  We decided to find the beach..after about 2 hours of walking, in search of the beach, we had gotten our selves well and truely lost.  We asked for directions but no one would help us.  We hailed a taxi and asked to be taken to the beach, the taxi driver was not very friendly either.  We eventually made it to the beach, it was kind of dissapointing! There wasnt much there, just the sand, the sea, and a few tourists.  We saw a helicoptor land on the Burj Al Arab Hotel, took some pictures and that was about it. We got another cab back to the shopping mall, wondered around for a bit longer then decided to see a movie..we saw 'The Vow', it was ok, just a way to pass time really.  Before heading to the airport we watched 'The Dubai Fountain' do its thing...The Dubai Fountain is
choreographed fountain system set on the 30-acre manmade Burj Khalifa Lake.

We got to the airport in good time for our flight, we decided on McDonalds for dinner.  We each had a chicken big mac meal...something you cant get in the UK, it was pretty lush!

The flight to Bangkok was uneventful, again we failed our 16 drink challenge!  I cant sleep on planes so it was a long night, I watched allot of movies.  Then it was morning, and we were finally in THAILAND!
